Are you ready for something a little bigger? I am. Welcome to a project that could touch 100,000 people a year.

This page is purely an expression of my thinking at this time. It is draft and subject to evolution as my ideas grow through my own thinking and your contribution. It should go without saying that nothing I have said or any contribution that you make should be interpreted as any form of commitment or agreement.

I love coaching and business training, I really do. I feel as though I make a genuine difference to people. And that's important to me. However, I am left frustrated with the situation that I can only access a very small number of people. I really want to provide the learnings of NLP to more people - hundreds of thousands of people. And to do this I need to find additional ways.

My Bigger Game is to do just that - teach children and adults the tools of NLP that transformed my life and those that I coach. Tools that in many respects are just common sense. But hey - common sense just aint that common!.

Imagine being able to offer personal excellence learning to a global community.

To do this I see a multi-media web experience - one that encourages exploration and discovery both of the site and of oneself. One that has hypnotic beauty and sound. A moving interactive masterpiece that teaches the unconscious through metaphor in it's visuals and content. One that invites participation and motivation to progress from start to finish. One that leads the student on a journey from self discovery to self mastery.

I see a number of modules. Each one a separate masterpiece. Each one with a specific agenda. Each one linked. Each one taking the student one step further.

To do this I envisage that going to need the assistance of people that are able to fill one or more of around twenty roles. My initial list is here:

  • Producer
  • Director
  • Artist
  • Musician
  • Writer
  • Narrator
  • Dreamer
  • Designer
  • NLP'er
  • Web Programmer (Probably Macromedia flash)
  • Project Administrator
  • Internet Marketing Expert

I think each module could be put together by less than 10 people taking on one or more of these roles.

As for remuneration - I see that participants will be paid a percentage of sales, the percentage being representative of their contribution. My present thinking is that for each role undertaken a contributor would receive 5% of the sales income (less tax) of the module that they contributed on.

I'm yet to price each module but I reckon between £5 and £25. The first discovery module would be free to get a taste of what is on offer and to whet the appetite.

I'm thinking that the contributors on the initial discovery module would receive a percentage of income on ALL subsequent modules. I'm thinking of around 1%. Such contributors would receive this payment without the need for contribution to subsequent modules in recognition that subsequent modules would not exist without their contribution.

I can see that this could be better explained with a spreadsheet. If you drop me an email I'll write one if I haven't done so already and send it to you. Do this here because the title will be automatically set. Please don't change the title as I'll use it to sort my email.

Our market is global and I anticipate selling to 100's of thousands of people per year. Do the sums - say 100,000 sales of £15 for each module that's - £15 x 100,000 = £1,500,000 per annum per module. As a module contributor getting say 5% you could get an income of £75,000. Nice hey?

Here are some sites to visit and thoughts to consider to get an idea of my thinking:

Metaphor

Deep learning through metaphor - Metaphor is a description of life patterns, experiences or circumstances which uses unrelated examples to convey the message. Fairy tales, stories, poems and corporate mission statements are well known examples of metaphoric communication.

According to Dr John Grinder "All which is not concrete is metaphoric - clearly, this involves the vast majority of our everyday experiences. The relationship which we have with our unconscious is easily the factor most important in our success in life, and is that of metaphor". (From a 1996 interview with Dr John Grinder )

Silvia Hartman, I discovered, has written some good stories using metaphor and NLP techniques. See them here.

Visuals and Discovery

J K Rowling - www.jkrowling.com gives an idea of the discovery nature of the site. Our site will be far more beautiful. Listen to the sounds and play with the pop-ups. Try and catch that fly!

Thomas Kincaid - www.thomaskinkade.com - provides an idea of the visual beauty. Thomas says of his pictures "I am frequently told that my paintings are to many people like glimpses of heaven. With this in mind, my latest work, Mountain Retreat , might be thought of as the kind of heavenly vision that any enthusiast of country living would long for. In Mountain Retreat I share a vision of nature as the Peaceable Kingdom, where man fits harmoniously into a glorious natural setting, and gentle creatures - wild turkeys, deer, and ducks - live without fear"

Maybe photo-realistic images would be more captivating. Check out Bert Monroy's amazing work here.

Although, not very interactive it makes a start on getting a message across with visuals and sound. See here.

A sense of the discovery nature of the site can be found at www.boxfoundation.org. Imagine the visuals of Kincaid with this style of animation. Careful you don't stay there too long!

Just take a look at the landscape art here. Imagine some of these pictures as interactive as the BOX site and with the wisdom of NLP through metaphor waiting to be discovered.

These guys have some great Macromedia Flash sites in their portfolio.

This one is certainly more scary than I had in mind but has the same atmospheric feel and captivating qualities.

Getting the idea now?

Auditory

As for music check out the Mission Builder on the Franklin Covey website here. It might be a bit much actually - but you should get the idea.

Or how about this ambient music loop here.

Words of inspiration

Quotations offering words of wisdom could have a place on the interactive masterpiece. See here for an example of such quotations.
